On Saturday, July 24, Napa branch members headed to the top of Spring Mountain for a reception and luncheon at Terra Valentine winery, one of Napa Valley’s hidden gems that produces outstanding wines.

General Manager and Winemaker Sam Baxter was our host for the festivities that were held on the terrace of the winery’s villa with fantastic views overlooking Napa Valley on a beautiful summer day. Sam provided an overview of the winery’s history and winemaking process and described the characteristics of all the wines that were poured during the event.

The reception featured cheese and Charcuterie stations for members to enjoy paired with Terra Valentine 2009 Estate Riesling.

Our luncheon began with a salad of Arugula and Belgian Endive with roasted local beets and Adante Goat Cheese Crostini paired with 2009 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc; followed by family style platters of blanched Haricot Verts with Herb Butter; Warm Fingerling Potato Salad with Applewood Smoked Bacon Lardons; sliced Heirloom Tomatoes with Buffalo Mozzerella; grilled Hanger Steak with roasted Torpedo Onions; and fresh Bouchon Breads served with Terra Valentine 2006 Wurtele Vineyard and 2006 Yverdon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. And finally for dessert, Terra Valentine Cabernet Dark Chocolate Truffles and individual cheese plates served with Terra Valentine 2006 Marriage Bordeaux blend.

Fantastic wines and great food along with breathtaking views of Napa Valley made this a truly memorable day for our members.
