A beautiful Indian Summer evening in Napa Valley was the perfect setting for a taste of Maine and fantastic wines.
Mumm Winery was our gracious host for this fun filled evening. Mumm is known for their great sparkling wines, but they also produce several wonderful still wines including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Festivities began with a reception featuring Mumm DVX Champagne, the finest sparkling wine produced by the winery. Members were then seated at a communal table on the winery’s patio overlooking the vineyards and were provided with bibs and shell crackers for the feast to follow. Huge pots filled with boiled Maine lobster, prawns, corn on the cobb, potatoes, artichokes, and sausages were dumped along the entire table along with drawn butter and artisan bread and the feast was on. Mumm Brut Prestige Champagne, 2008 Pinot Gris and 2008 Pinot Noir were served, a perfect match for the food. One thing for sure, no one was going to leave hungry!
Chocolate nut ice cream sandwiches for dessert along with members enjoying the wines topped off a fantastic event that was enjoyed by all. The event was arranged by Terry Scott.
