On Saturday, February 13 Napa Branch members enjoyed a fantastic evening of gourmet dining and outstanding wine with their Valentine Sweetheart.  The event was arranged by Carl Schetter and Ron Schneider and wines were selected by Jerry Robertson and George Rnjak.

Red roses adorned all of the ladies place settings and Brix Executive Chef Anne Gingrass-Paix prepared a grand menu that insured plenty of hugs and kisses during the evening.

We began with a reception featuring Mumm Brut Reserve Champagne served with Skewered Grilled Tequila Lime Butter Shrimp and Grilled Vegetable and Goat Cheese Crostini.

Guests were then seated for dinner beginning with Butternut Squash Soup with Crème Fraiche; followed by Butter Lettuce Salad with Pecorino Cheese, Asian Pears, Toasted Almonds and Champagne Vinaigrette served with 2005 Chateau St. Jean Robert Young Reserve Chardonnay; followed by Garden Vegetable and Rabbit Ragu Orecchiette Pasta, served with 2006 Whitehall Lane Carneros Pinot Noir; followed by Lamb Osso Buco with Farmers Cheese Polenta and Castelvetrano Olive Jus, or Grilled Alaska King Salmon with Wild Rice and Seasonal Vegetables, served with 2000 Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon; and for dessert, Classic Apple Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Members in attendance all agreed this was a grand evening in celebration of Valentines Day.

Guests enjoying the evening at Brix Member Fran Grasso was so hungry she started to eat the roses!!
